Bootable USB Installers for OS X Mavericks, Yosemite, El Capitan, and Sierra

Simply replace the Terminal command with the one from the preceding article by copying it into the Terminal window. You will need an 8GB or larger USB flash drive that has been partitioned and formatted for use with OS X.

As with previous versions of OS X, it’s not difficult to create a bootable installer drive from the Yosemite installer, though the processes have changed slightly since Mavericks. I show you how. With that version of Mac OS X, and all versions since, it's been possible to use the Terminal command createinstallmedia to create a bootable installer of the macOS, in this article we'll show you.
Drive Partition and Format
Create Installer
Open the Terminal in the Utilities' folder. Choose the appropriate command line (in red) depending upon what OS X installer you want. Paste that entire command line from below at the Terminal's prompt:
Command for macOS High Sierra:
sudo /Applications/Install macOS High Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume --applicationpath /Applications/Install macOS High Sierra.app
Command for macOS Sierra:
sudo /Applications/Install macOS Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume --applicationpath /Applications/Install macOS Sierra.app
Command for El Capitan:
sudo /Applications/Install OS X El Capitan.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume --applicationpath /Applications/Install OS X El Capitan.app
Command for Yosemite:
sudo /Applications/Install OS X Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume --applicationpath /Applications/Install OS X Yosemite.app
Command for Mavericks:
sudo /Applications/Install OS X Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/MyVolume --applicationpath /Applications/Install OS X Mavericks.app

Press RETURN. You will be asked for your admin password. It will not echo to the Terminal window. Then press RETURN again. Wait for the return of the Terminal prompt signifying the process has completed. It takes quite some time to finish. Be patient.

How to create a bootable installer as startup drive for Mac OS Yosemite installing process.
You can download the Mac OS X Yosemite installer from the Mac Apps Store. Then you can start to create a bootable disk as a startup device with the Yosemite download installer. Please remember to use more than 12 GB of free space USB drive to use as a bootable installer.
Step one: – plug in the USB drive to the Mac PC (use a secondary internal partition for installing the files)
Step two: – open the terminal and use the createinstallmedia command to create the bootable USB installer.
Step three: – Enter the following path to the terminal Intel parallel studio xe composer edition for fortran os x.
Note: – the Yosemite installer must be in the application folder to do this step.

Note: – In this example, the Yosemite installer in the application folder and Myusb is the name of USB drive which is used to boot.
